So often in our modern world, we tend to focus on the “online” world — it’s so easy to like a FB comment — I wanted to create opportunities for people to share their “likes” for their life “offline!
In 2013, I created a weekly ritual in the the historic district of Savannah. There are 22 squares of gorgeous green space with beautiful trees. Since I know the power in sharing gratitude— I was curious to see what would happen if we shared gratitude in public. The squares were perfect locations for meeting others to share gratitude! The circle started at 12:12 and done by 12:30 — gratitude doesn’t have to take a long time. These weekly gatherings happened for three years from November 2013 – 2016.
As much as I have enjoyed them, in November of 2016, I felt it was time for me to switch things up in my life. 2016 is a 9 year — which means completion. We still meet up for random gratitude circles a few times a year. You can find out more on the Gratitude Circle in the Squares Facebook page.
This experience or experiment has inspired me in so many ways! I had no idea who would show up and I’ve never did one alone. They even happened even when I’m couldn’t be there! We met on Christmas and New Year’s Day, in the rain, in the heat, in the cold, — weather didn’t stop us. We even met at midnight on a warm summer night in 2014! Friendships were created, random strangers joined us, lots of selfies were taken, and free hugs were always given. I think the most exciting result from these experiences was sharing all of the things we were manifesting because we were living with an attitude of Gratitude! One of the most important element to manifesting is being able to be grateful for everything. If one can be grateful during challenges, they will be able to move through challenging times easier. Being grateful for other people’s successes also increases your own personal success.
